     Operational Requirements
 
Missile attacks and Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) present unique challenges to the US military and NATO.  As the world political climate changes new threats arise, new technologies become available, and new challenges must be overcome.

Many critical capabilities are already present in PEGEM that support the needs of the War fighter.  These capabilities compensate for limitations in doctrine and include the following:

  • Planning

    • Capability to plan and estimate CBRNE(chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high explosive) and debris (interceptor, warhead, and booster) effects

    • Active and passive defense support 
       

  • War fighter Training

    • Spans all command levels (battalion to Army headquarters)

    • Tailored to meet the needs of the warfighter.
       

  • Exercise Support

    • Current and future operations

    • Early warning and planning

    • Integrated command structure operation

    • Display of information (graphics and detailed data, including casualty estimation, contamination levels, contamination area site, hazard times.)
       

  • Communications

    • Operational information (units, maps, MOA's, …)

    • Link-16
